Beschreibung
Two years ago, the woman got pain in both elbow joints "out of the blue", which fluctuated slightly in intensity but was always present. Apart from the pain itself, this brought an unpleasant restriction of quality of life for this keen athlete and piano player, since swimming and playing the piano were only possible in a very limited way, or not at all anymore. When no improvement occurred after a few weeks, she went to the doctor, who diagnosed an inflammation at the tendon insertions in both elbows. Various treatment approaches brought no lasting solution.
In conversation we found out that her beloved tomcat's health had been very poor about 6 months before the pain started. She thought she would lose him. After a few months his condition stabilized, and there was a first resolution of the conflict of "not being able to hold on to" the tomcat. This resolution, however, was evidently not permanent, because he wasn't really healthy; rather, his condition kept fluctuating back and forth between "ok" and "sick". So she went into a hanging healing, and the inflammation in her elbows couldn't subside. This situation lasted about 1 1/2 years, until the tomcat finally died. One would assume that the SBS could now find its conclusion, but that didn't happen. Why? She still hadn't processed the parting, thought about him a great deal, and said literally, "I still can't let him go". Once these connections became clear to her, she decided to bring her grieving process to an end. She engaged very intensively with the situation and shifted her focus away from "I miss him" toward the beautiful moments she had been able to spend with him, and in this way got over his death. Just two weeks later she was pain-free and could play the piano for two hours straight without problems and swim pain-free.
Supplementary note: Also interesting about this case is the fact that she started the SBS in both elbows. She evidently perceived the tomcat both as a "partner" and as a "child", which one repeatedly encounters particularly with pets, whom one has to take care of accordingly (similar to a child).
