Beschreibung
For weeks, even months, I had been looking forward with mixed feelings to an announced, probably necessary gum transplant in the lower jaw (to stabilize a certain implant).
For this, skin was to be removed from the upper jaw ridge and implanted below - actually unimaginable for me.
The dentist assured me twice that the palate would remain intact, as this is usually tricky, but there would be enough skin behind the last tooth.
The time had come at the beginning of April. I opted for twilight sleep.
After two hours it was all over, I felt nothing and was happy.
But the evening after the operation, a few nodules appeared on the outside of my cheek,
exactly where the wound was on the inside. I thought nothing of it. But after a few days, a circular, very burning rash developed, which then hurt all over my face.
I was afraid it could spread. The doctor suspected a detoxification from the inside out and recommended a cortisone ointment. This took away the pain within an hour. After a few days, the skin was very thin from the ointment and there was hardly any further healing. An anti-mycotic ointment improved the skin, but I wasn't really satisfied with that either, it itched and itched.
The palate is now beautiful and pain-free again, the fear is gone and has given way to confidence.
Else, 62
Note from Björn Eybl
Thank you Else for the interesting report.
SBS of the epidermis in solution does not cause pain. So it must have been an SBS of the dermis: a disfigurement or defilement conflict. Your body prepared for the operation for weeks (you must have been active for that long). It thickened the dermis as protection against the dentist and the operation.
