Beschreibung
On a hike I stepped awkwardly on a stone and twisted my right foot outward. With a lunging step of my left foot I tried to still catch the unavoidable fall. And for a split second I actually believed I had succeeded, when I nevertheless lost my balance and landed gently on my knees and hands. It was all only half as bad, and I was able to continue the hike with my twisted right foot without major impairment. Over the following 2 days I did feel a slight pressure in the area of my right ankle while walking, but one couldn't really call it pain. In my view, it was merely a ligament overstretch, and after 2 days everything was back in balance anyway. On the 3rd day, however, I suddenly felt a quiet but unpleasant throbbing and "working" in my left ankle - always whenever I came to rest and sat down somewhere. After puzzling for a while over why my left ankle was now suddenly hurting, I came to the following conclusion: during the fall on the hike I suffered a self-devaluation conflict with my left ankle, because it had not succeeded, with the lunging step, in catching the fall, and I also remembered again that tiny moment where I had the feeling of having made it, but then the left ankle suddenly gave way just a little bit after all, so that I landed on all fours. The fact that this throbbing in the left ankle then persisted for 2 days, only to disappear again just as quickly as it had appeared, confirmed my hypothesis of the consequential conflict.
I remember in this connection that I had already observed a similar situation a few years ago with a friend: we were together on the way back from a 5BN seminar when she tripped and landed on her knees, bracing herself with her right hand, as the real shock still awaited: the backpack on her back had, through the stumble, picked up so much momentum that it slid over her head and pushed her to the ground, so that she landed face-first on the footpath. She had come down on her teeth, and it also started bleeding right away in her mouth. I provided makeshift first aid for her, and she then went to her hotel (I had to catch my train). The next day we met again, and she told me that fortunately her teeth hadn't suffered any damage. Shortly afterward her right wrist began to hurt - the wrist with which she had braced herself during the fall, but which had given way when the backpack slid over her neck and head; i.e., it hadn't been able to withstand the extra weight, so that she had landed on her face. She believed the pain in her wrist came from the fall. If that had been the case, she would have had to feel the pain right after the fall, or at the latest on the evening of that same day, but not only the next day. No - she had told me that in the morning she had already been able to brush her teeth again without any problems. That problem-free toothbrushing was then also the start of the PCL of the self-devaluation conflict with the right wrist. The pain in the wrist lasted one day, and then everything was fine again.
